SHOW OFF YOUR ARMS IN …

SLIT SLEEVES

The slashes in this sheer top showcase toned biceps, plus it's an especially unexpected and flirtatious look for a night out or brunch with the girls.

 TANK MAXIS

A striped, belted maxi dress is the perfect solution when you have arms and shoulders that deserve awards but want to skim problem areas elsewhere. Choose one in a color that contrasts with your skin tone to really play up your favorite body part.

SLEEVELESS BUTTON-DOWNS

Get into the summer spirit (and dazzle your coworkers) with a demure top sans sleeves. A contrasting collar and flowy hemline are stylish enough to go from your desk to drinks, while the neckline and shoulder coverage allow you to highlight your arms while still looking professional.

SHOW OFF YOUR LEGS IN …

 HIGH-LOW SKIRTS

You've been running. You've been doing squats. You've been lunging. And now you want to get in on the maxi trend? Do it without covering up those attention-grabbing stems by wearing what we're dubbing a sideways mullet skirt: business on the right, party on the left.

 SPARKLY MINIS

If you want to make a major entrance, opt for an allover sequin skirt, which pulls the eye down to your lower half. We love styles with interesting details, like this contrast beading along the hemline.

 SCALLOPED SHORTS

The funky hemline immediately draws attention to your thighs, something that you should totally do if you've got killer pins! Adding a pair of wedges lengthens your legs, but the shorts also team well with embellished flip-flops or ballet flats.

Shaving Tricks

Posted by Precious Me at 05:42 0 comments
Shaving is the grooming prerequisite that gets us ready for those mini dresses and shorts. But if you don't do it right, shaving can come with some rather uncomfortable side effects which include itching, razor burns and in-grown hairs. Good news is, you can put an end to these post-shaving blues once and for all -- here's all the tricks you need for smooth skin.

1 Be razor-smart

If you have sensitive skin that itches or burns post-shave, consider a three-blade razor instead of a five-blade version -- the latter has better precision but its closer shave can make sensitive skin prone to ingrowns and razor burn. Also, look for a razor that has a built-in lubricant strip for even less irritation. And don't forget to replace your razor regularly -- shaving with a dull blade can cause more nicks and cuts.

2 Soak before you shave

Take a warm bath or shower to soften to-be-shaved hair. Soaking makes the hair more pliable so it can be shorn gently, thus preventing ingrowns.

3 Always use a shaving cream

For woman prone to ingrown hairs, shaving sans cream is a no-no. Lather up with a shaving cream or gel to lubricate and help the razor glide over your skin.

4 Shave in the direction of growth

You'll lower your chances of getting ingrown hairs and razor bumps if you shave in the direction that the hair grows. To prevent skin irritation, avoid going over the same area multiple times with the razor.

5 Soothe after defuzzing

Apply a little antiseptic toner in places where you are prone to bumps and ingrowns. Follow with a soothing fragrance-free moisturizer.

6 Exfoliate weekly

Exfoliate skin gently using a loofah pad or body scrub to slough away dead skin cells, which can help prevent ingrown hairs from developing. One caveat: Avoid exfoliating immediately after shaving, otherwise skin can become irritated.

Jessica Simpson Maternity Line

Posted by Precious Me at 07:30 0 comments
She just had baby Maxwell Drew weeks ago, but Jessica Simpson is already giving birth to another venture: a maternity line. The designer announced plans for her latest collection, aptly named Jessica Simpson Maternity.
Simpson’s new line — includes “breezy, everyday pieces aimed at the modern mom-to-be who wants to maintain her fashion edge throughout her pregnancy,”

“I’m so excited to partner with Destination Maternity to design a collection of fashionable styles that make you look and feel great,” Simpson said in the release. “You want to wear clothes that are flattering to your baby bump; you want to show your bump off.”
The clothes will have a vintage 1970s feel, and include printed tops, maxi dresses, jackets, blazers, sweaters, knits and denim. Wonder if we’ll see any leopard-print caftans in the collection?

Rita Ora

Rita Ora! The 21-year-old British singer has made waves across the pond — ever since news broke that she signed with Jay-Z’s label Roc Nation earlier this year.
With two hit singles under her belt (“How We Do (Party)” and “R.I.P.”), opening on Coldplay’s summer tour and befriending BeyoncĂ©, is there anything else you should be jealous of? Yes, there is: her killer style.
In just a few short months, Ora has proved that she’s a style chameleon. She was able to work a head-to-toe menswear-inspired denim look during London Fashion Week, while looking effortlessly elegant in a backless black gown at a Cartier after part.

Most recently, she hit the X Factor in London in an all-white outfit consisting of a collared mini, blazer, red plaid creepers and ultra-glam cat-eye sunglasses.
Other looks we’ve loved so far? Her sophisticated gold-and-black sheath, her cowgirl-chic ensemble and all of the glam gowns she was spotted in during Cannes.
Although the singer is relatively new to the fashion world, she’s given us more than enough reason to keep our eye on her.

Britney Spears Fantasy Twist Fragrance

There’s no slowing down Britney Spears! The pop icon is releasing yet another fragrance, Britney Spears Fantasy Twist. The two-in-one perfume brings together two of the singer’s most popular scents, Fantasy and Midnight Fantasy.

The sphere-shaped bottle twists in half, revealing two smaller bottles in pink and blue (the singer’s favorite colors), one of each scent. The classic Fantasy is the muskier of the two, with notes of jasmine petals and white-chocolate orchid, while Midnight Fantasy is warmer and features wafts of black cherries, framboise and plum. Fans can layer the two perfumes or wear them separately.

Sparkly Ties

Blazers and boyfriend jeans have become wardrobe staples, and now one trendy celeb is stealing yet another looks from the men’s department.

Jessica Alba was spotted wearing a sparkly necktie, which she paired with a collared gray sweater, black-and-white printed ankle-length pants and bright orange cap-toe heels. While she did put a girly spin on the boy’s piece — it’s ultra sparkly! — we’re not sure her new accessory is a must-have for everyone.

What do you think of her fashion risk? Would you rock it?
